Privacy at the Alumni Hub
What we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
Draft notice for review before launch.
What we collect
The details you add to your profile: name, email, organization and role, ZIP code (we show only your city or state), LinkedIn link, photo, programs and years, interests, and a short bio. We also keep your event registrations, the forms you send (mentorship, contact, referrals, memories), and basic sign-in records.
Who can see it
Only signed-in alumni can open the hub. Your profile appears in the alumni directory only if you choose to show it, and you decide whether your email, LinkedIn link, and location are visible. The Educational Programs team can see your full record so they can run events and programs.
How we use it
To run the hub: show the directory, manage event registrations, match mentors, answer your questions, and send the emails you have asked for. Your record is kept in sync with the Cato Institute’s constituent database (Salesforce) so your information stays consistent across Cato. We do not sell your information.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
